VISION AND CULTURE

What’s in a name?

Our company name reflects our culture and values. It is the amalgamation of two concepts:

Kaizen

Japanese for “change for the better” or “improvement” English translation is “continuous improvement”

Azania

Ancient Roman Arabic word for Sub-Saharan Africa

Kaizen + Azania = Kaizania

Continuous improvement and Excellence in Southern Africa.

Principles of Kaizen and Kaizania

:: process and results (not results-only)
:: systemic thinking (i.e. big picture, not solely the narrow view)
    :: non-judgmental, non-blaming (because blaming is wasteful)

In doing business with Kaizania you will experience our commitment to and passion for what we do: build quality systems that do the job and perform, reliably and repeatably.

Kaizania Cultural values

In forging long term relationships with our customers and strong team work within Kaizania, these are the values we live by:

    Honesty
We are honest with others, honest with ourselves. We are transparent, clear and face reality.
    Performance orientation
We always do our best, go the extra mile, take initiative and continuously improve ourselves.
    Mutual Trust
Trust between customer and supplier mutual benefit and shared success. Trust your team mates’ motivation, and trust in their skills to get the job done.
    Shared purpose
Put the team and projects interest ahead of your own, and act as if everyone is in it together, because we are.
    Non hierarchical
Junior people are expected to challenge senior people. What matters is the quality of an idea, not the title of the person saying it.
    Openness
We are curious, open to outside thinking, willing to experiment. We seek the best, wherever it is.
    Fact based
We find, present and base decisions and communications on facts. It is facts, not opinions, that ultimately count.
    Challenge
We experience a sense of competitive urgency; it is a race without a finish line.
    Meritocracy
    Rewards are based on merit.
